In a national landscape that continually reaffirms the belief that investing in people is the greatest investment a nation can make, the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) continues its distinguished journey in empowering Saudi youth through Sharakah—a pioneering national initiative that has become a model for developing talent and building capabilities within the water sector, serving as a key enabler in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Launched to bridge a critical gap in the labor market, Sharakah emerged at a time when Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have become a cornerstone for infrastructure development and service efficiency. The initiative stems from the company’s belief that knowledge transfer and capacity building in this specialized field are essential to ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of the water sector.
Over the past five years, the program has demonstrated tangible impact—successfully qualifying five generations of national talent equipped with a deep understanding of partnership mechanisms, financial and legal frameworks, and technical models. Since its inception in 2020, more than 200 Saudi men and women have graduated from Sharakah, distinguished by their specialized knowledge and professional competencies. Many have joined both public and private sector organizations, contributing to national projects that embody the essence of Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation.
The 2025 cohort marks another proud milestone in the program’s journey. Recently, fifty trainees completed an intensive twelve-week program that combined theoretical learning with practical field experience at key water projects—witnessing firsthand how partnerships translate into real, sustainable development on the ground. This group represents a shining example of a new generation that combines ambition, knowledge, and a strong sense of national responsibility.
What sets Sharakah apart is its innovative, applied approach that blends in-person training with digital learning. It offers participants a balanced mix of academic knowledge, field experience, and leadership inspiration,
through sessions with distinguished experts and industry leaders who share their success stories and instill in young professionals the values of dedication and excellence.
Beyond training, the program forms part of a broader national ecosystem aimed at developing the skilled professionals who will lead the water sector’s future—anchored in principles of quality, sustainability, and social responsibility. For SWPC, Sharakah is not merely a training initiative, but rather a national project to build human capital first, preparing individuals to become active partners in development and key contributors to the Kingdom’s growth through professionalism and vision.
Guided by this philosophy, the Saudi Water Partnership Company continues its leading role as a national pioneer in developing and implementing Public-Private Partnership projects across the water and wastewater sectors, placing human capital empowerment at the heart of its strategy. It stands as the bridge between knowledge and application, ambition and achievement, and ultimately, between people and nation—a journey that reaffirms that building the future begins with the minds being shaped today.
