Prince of Jazan region inaugurates Al Shuqaiq 3 project

Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan Region, inaugurated 20 new development projects for environmental, water and agricultural services in Jazan region, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, at a total cost of more than 3.6 billion riyals. The Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed, according to a statement carried out by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA that the water projects launched by the Prince of Jazan region included the completion of Saudi Water Partnership Company’s implementation and operation of the third phase project of Al Shuqaiq 3 desalination plant using reverse osmosis technology on the Red Sea coast. Noteworthy Marubeni Corporation, Acciona Agua, S.A., Abdul Latif Jameel Commercial Development Company Limited, and Rawafid Alhadarah Holding Co. are the project development consortium” The minister explained that the projects were carried out with the participation of the private sector, on an area of 160,000 square meters, with a production capacity of 450,000 cubic meters per day. To meet the demand for desalinated water in the regions of Jazan and Aseer, and serve more than 1.2 million beneficiaries, at a financial cost of more than 2.1 billion riyals.
